Surgery A Success!

Sorry we haven’t posted in a while, we’ve been otherwise preoccupied:-)

Yesterday (Sunday May 25) we spent the day doing blood tests, getting checked off by specialists, and Waiting. We made it home by about 6 pm, and Gidon went to sleep and Devra went to the neighborhood Tehillim (Psalms) reading for Chayim Zvi.

We left home at 5 am or so to get to the hospital by 6:30 to get pyjamas and Wait. We hoped that we’d go into the operating room by 7:30 as scheduled, but we evidently didn’t Wait enough:-) So we ended up going at about 10:30-11.

Devra finished all of Tehilim during the Important Wait (it takes about 3 hours to say the whole book).

NOW, Professor Konstantini just hopped out of OR to tell us that the surgery was a success.

The tumor was slightly larger than expected, most if not all of it was removed, and the two initial tests show that it is a probably not malignant (insert a four or five syllable medical term here). We have a few more days of Waiting (actually, that’s waiting with a small “w”) while the pain from the operation passes.

He may have some very short term (a few days) effect on his left arm and shoulder body tone.

We will post soon to describe what’s next.

Thank you ALL for your prayers and concern! Email and phone ban is officially lifted:-)
